c1909 Chadwick Violin Amati copy. This beautiful German vintage violin was thoroughly & professionally refurbished in 2004. The luthier charged over $500 to refurbish it. When I saw it I was stunned - absolutely gorgeous! It is constructed with a spruce top and flame maple back and neck. Ebony fingerboard, pegs, and tailpiece. It comes with a modern hard cover case for excellent protection, rosin, pack of extra horsehair for bow. 2 extra ebony tuning pegs. The bow has an abalone handle and is strung with quality horsehair. It says "Chadwick Violin", "Copy of Amati" inside the sound hole. Please note that there are slight hairline cracks on the spruce top (see picture). It's recommended that you have a luthier inspect it before playing. I reduced the price from $1499 to $1299 to accommodate the cracks getting repaired if necessary. Also there was a repair done in 1924 in Rhinelander Wisconsin by Emery. I do not know what that repair was. I'm looking for a good home where it will be played & appreciated for the beautiful instrument it is. I hope that this 116 year old violin can become an heirloom for another family's generations.
