- New shifters
- New Cables and cable housing for both shifting and brakes.
- Lightly used Avid brake levers
- New Shimano V-brakes (waaaay better than the old cantilevers the bike came with)
- New Michelin Protek Max 700x30 tires that have 5mm of puncture protection and are e-bike rated, so they should handle the power and weight better than most tires. Also, new tubes.
- A new chain and casette on the rear.
- New grips (front) and handlebar tape (rear).
Some specs & information:
The riders of the bike as it was built are 6'2" with a short torso, long legs and 5'6" average build, however it has plenty of adjustability, especially for the stoker.
It is a triple front, 6 spd rear with a Shimano crane derailleur that works really nicely with the friction shifting.
As with almost any bike of the era, it is a steel frame, although the top and bottom tubes are pretty unique as they are flattened tubing.
The bike is in great shape, although not perfect. There are some chips and blemishes in the paint, but overall the condition of the frame is excellent. Brakes and drivetrain work great. My son and I took it out for a ride after working on it and it rides flawlessly (benefit of friction shifting, I guess, but the limits on the rear are all set and everything works great). The rear drop bars have some nubs to simulate brake hoods to rest on and I found they rub on my legs. Depending on the rider in the rear, some additional width to the bars or an extension to the "stem" may address that issue.
